Because of this, I find that failure in the game motivates me to go again and improve rather than feeling frustrated with my shortcomings. It’s always possible to find out where you went wrong and make the appropriate changes. OlliOlli world stays true to this philosophy by ensuring that any mistake is the player’s fault and not the game’s. I’ve always felt that in a game with a large skill ceiling, it’s imperative that the player has as much control as possible. That’s probably because OlliOlli world Mix of refined controls and first-class design. And yet, the arrival OlliOlli world feels incredible and can be very rewarding for those who master it. This inherently gives the player less work and should theoretically limit what can be done. You can only go forward, backward, up or down. However, side perspective does not provide the ability to move sideways. Each trick flows seamlessly into the next, which is remarkable given the limitations of skating in a 2D environment. These are all well executed individually, but how they come together is impressive. OlliOlli world has a wide range of tricks you can perform including ollies, grinds, kickflips and grabs. Even the finest Tony Hawks Games from the 2000s are in danger of being dethroned with this newcomer on the block. Thank God, OlliOlli world not only offers the best gameplay in the series, but also some of the best of any skateboarding game to date. Crazy movesĪccessibility and customization are nice, but they don’t mean much if the gameplay itself falls short.
This is something I appreciate as it would have been easy enough for the developers to take the quick way out and just have a few preset options. Instead of just offering a generic caret, OlliOlli world strives to provide you with the tools to become anything you want.

There are hundreds of options to change your facial features, skin color, clothes and much more. Speaking of cosmetics, OlliOlli world features surprisingly detailed character customization. Of course, those who want to challenge themselves still have the opportunity to maximize their score and unlock exclusive cosmetics. The regular checkpoints and the option to take an easier route helped OlliOlli world a much more accessible game. Complete failure is neither as common nor as punishing as in previous installments. Whereby perfection is by no means necessary. You can switch to background or foreground in most levels, which is necessary to earn enough points for perfect levels. The levels have more depth as multiple routes are offered. While the first two games were strictly two-dimensional, OlliOlli world switches to a 2.5D perspective instead. No change is more evident than the change in art style. That time shows how this edition improves on pretty much everything found in the previous two games.
